Dr. Zhou has raised the question of whether our observation, that hydroxylated metabolites of thalidomide are found in urine of mice but not in that of multiple myeloma patients, is related to the administered dose. We have analyzed urinary thalidomide metabolites of mice treated with the same dose as that used for cancer patients and found them to be present still in proportions comparable with those found at higher doses.
Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
