The Cover
Mina53 (myc induced nuclear antigen, 53 kDa; mina) was identified as a Myc-target gene. Double immunofluorescence staining for Mina53 protein (green) and nucleolin (red) showed that Mina53 protein is concentrated in nucleoli in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) TE-11 cells. ESCC patients having tumors with high expression of Mina53 had shorter survival periods. For further details, please see Tsuneoka et al. on page 7347 in this issue.
