The Cover
The PRL-3 mRNA is consistently elevated in metastatic samples derived from colorectal cancers. It remains to be examined whether PRL-3 protein is also increased in colorectal or other cancers. In this report, Li et al. describe the generation of monoclonal antibodies that react specifically with PRL-3 but not with PRL-1 or PRL-2. They use the monoclonal antibodies to demonstrate that PRL-3 protein is overexpressed in over 10% of primary colorectal cancers. The cover shows immunofluorescence double-labeling with mouse monoclonal antibody #318 (FITC) and rabbit polyclonal anti-PRLs (Texas-Red) in PRL-3-expressing stable cell line.
