FISH analysis of EGFR (red signals) and centromere 7 (green signals) copy numbers in a highly amplified prostate cancer with more than 20 EGFR signals per cell. EGFR amplification was heterogeneous in this cancer and could only be found in about 30% of the tumor volume. The remaining cancer had 2-4 centromere 7 and 2-4 EGFR copies per cell.
