CDP791 is a PEGylated di-Fab′ antibody that binds with high affinity to VEGFR2 and blocks VEGF binding. In a Phase I clinical trial of CDP791, several patients developed cutaneous hemangiomata arising 28 to 106 days after the first drug administration and resolving after cessation. The cover shows immunohistochemical analysis of a hemangioma biopsy indicating that VEGFR2 is nonphosphorylated. Additional immunohistochemistry shows the presence of CDP791 and suggests inhibition of VEGFR2 signaling in these lesions.
