The Cover
The specific FTI, R115777, reduces hypoxia in human glioma xenograft xenografts. U87 tumor-bearing mice were treated with vehicle or with R115777 then injected with pentafluorinated 2-nitroimidazole (EF5) to detect hypoxia that appears in red. While U87 xenografts presented large regions of hypoxia in absence of treatment (upper panel), the treated tumors showed little evidence of hypoxia (lower panel). For details, see C.
